Прошло 70 лет со дня тех далеких памятных событий.
В начале 1943 г. командование Закавказского фронта поручило воинам-альпинистам сорвать фашистскую символику и водрузить над вершинами советские флаги.

The strong wind made Andrzej turn back.
Starting from the Base Camp at 20:15, Andrzej reached at 2:30 Camp 3. This is a very good pace. There was Sherpa waited him with hot tea. The wind was already too strong to continue acsent - it was too dangerous. They decided to wait until morning to go down. So this attempt failed.

Andrzej started speed ascent of Lhotze

September 8 evening Andrzej started his speed acsent of Lhotze.
The team planned to have summit push on September 8, but, reaching Camp 3, climbers were faced extremly strong wind. It was decided to go down to BC and wait for more apropriate weather.
At the same time Andrzej Bargel , decided not t change his plans, and started from the base camp at 8:15 pm on Oct. 8. The first 4 hours before him walked Sherpa Tensing.
We are waiting for news from the mountain! And good luck and good weather to Andrzej!

Lhotse speed climb: Andrzej hopes to set the record on 8000-er
The member of the Polish expedition led by Artur Haizer, Andrzej Bargiel, who set the record of Elbrus speed climb in 2010 (from Azau to the West top) (International Elbrus Race 2010), hopes to do the speed climb to Lhotse summit. Rewarding ceremony of VII International Elbrus Race was held on Azau yesterday.
The president of Kabardino-Balkaria Mountaineering Federation Abdul Khalim Elmezov awarded diplomas and prizes from Sport Ministry of the Republic. The prizers are awarded by medals and prizes from the general sponsor NPF BASK and Tramontana Outdoor shop.

77th Elbrus climb in 77th birthday!

Happy Birthday, Boris!
The oldest participant on the VII International Elbrus Race was Boris Korshunov – he selebrated his 77th birthday in the day of the race on August 31! And it was the day he climbed Elbrus in 77th time! This event was the point of interest for MEDIA – the reports were made by ITAR TASS NEWSWIRE and Government TV channel. Boris’ excellent sports form and an amazing biography made a deep impression on television crew. Boris participates in Elbrus Races since 2006, this race was the 5th for him. Participants who saw how Boris run the route, admired him. Boris is a well-known high-altitude mountain climber –and also permanent participant of ski marathons, soame years ago he won the European title The Iron Man for the victory in a series of ski marathons in her age group.
